The Problem

HOUSING IS ONE OF THE MOST RECOGNIZABLE PROBLEMS IN SLUMS OF SOUTH AMERICA.

104 million people live in improvised houses made up of waste and with dirt as their floor. We believe this is one of the most representative symbols of exclusion and human rights violations, which makes it the most urgent need for people living in poverty conditions.

CONSTRUCTION OF TRANSITIONAL HOUSE

Since 1997, we've built more than 111,000 transitional houses across 19 countries in Latin America.

The goals of this program are:
• Provide families with decent living conditions by building transitional homes for them.
• Bring families out of an extreme condition almost immediately.
• Involve volunteers in the construction process, which includes the benefited families, to promote civic participation and solidarity.
